The Hospitality Committee
Purpose: to ensure a welcoming and inclusive
social environment among members/friends of and visitors to the CVUUS
congregation.
Current
members: Kate Kaster,
Carol Kulczyk, Marty Kulczyk, Ann Webster, Ann Ross
Key tasks
and responsibilities:
1. Weekly
supply, set-up, and clean-up for refreshments after Sunday morning worship
services.
2. Provision
for needed paper goods and other supplies.
3. Registry
and scheduling of Bakers' Co-op.
4. Planning
for Circle Supper, at least one annually.
5. Supply of
refreshments for occasional special events (i.e, congregational meetings,
orientation luncheons, memorial services, et.al.
6. Taking
occasional turns as Greeters to assist Membership.
7.
Willingness to consider other opportunities for social interaction (i.e., movie
nights, game nights, hymn sings, et. al.
Skills,
attitudes and attributes desired in committee members:
1. Outgoing
nature or desire to grow in that regard.
2. Desire to
engender comfort and ease for individuals in a group setting.
3.
Expressive of "I'm OK. You're OK." attitude. You have a place here.
4. Sense of
humor.
5. Valuing
community.
6. Pride in
CVUUS.
Number and
composition of committee members:
1. 4 to 6
people.
2. Gender
and age mix.
3. Some
longer-standing, some newer members.
Amount of
time required:
1. Meeting
frequency: bi-monthly.
2. Other
time expected: as needed.
Length of
commitment: two years,
renewable. Chairing should rotate.
Budget: $1,000/year
Major goals
for July 1, 2007 - June 08:
1. Consider
two Circle Suppers. although a mid-winter one has worked well, people have
suggested that two a year would be great - one in the Fall and one in the early
Spring.
2. Train
everyone on the committee how to do the Sunday morning drill. (Instructions are
posted in the pantry.)
